Our Story

Transition Stirling was formed in October 2009, by a group of volunteers who wanted to work on positive solutions to problems that the Stirling area will face in the future, due to rising oil prices and climate change.

In late 2012, we received funding to run our first fully-funded project, Wood For All.  Since then, we have run countless projects and programmes, supported and led by our volunteers, board and staff team. We’ve run so many projects, we want to share them with you too!

Our Vision

Our vision is simple (at least on the surface!)

Transition Stirling works to makes sustainable living easy for people and communities

Our Mission

Our mission is to create positive environmental change while uplifting communities. We promote sustainable practices that protect the planet, reduce waste and improve quality of life, bringing people together to create a better future for everyone.

We believe in keeping things simple:

Reusing more

Adopting mindful shopping habits that support our planet

Borrowing instead of buying new things for every project

Transforming old things into new

Donating so others can use what you no longer need.
