Our board

Transition Stirling is made up of a fantastic team of people. Find out a little bit more about them below.

Peter Singleton – Chair

Peter has lived in Kippen for over 20 years, whilst working for the Scottish Environment Protection Agency. He graduated from Plymouth Polytechnic with a degree in Oceanography, Meteorology & Astronomy before moving to Edinburgh. Having always worked in the Environmental field, Peter believes we need to place sustainable living at the core of our society. With the dual challenges of biodiversity collapse and climate crisis requiring a fundamental reassessment of our social & economic paradigms.

Naomi Ross – Secretary

A waste policy specialist at the Scottish Environment Protection Agency, Naomi is originally from Yorkshire but has lived in the Stirling area for more than 25 years, currently in Fallin with her husband and geriatric cat. She has a BSc in Natural Sciences from the Open University and is a Chartered Waste Manager. In 2021, Naomi was given a spot on the COP26 Green Power List for her efforts in launching Scotland's first online clothes hire service. Although the service closed last year, she gained a host of skills from the experience and is keen to put these to use at Transition Stirling. She's happiest encouraging wildlife into her garden, wandering aimlessly in the woods and hanging out with the people she loves!

Sorrel Packham – Treasurer

Sorrel is a publishing design specialist and works on a self-employed basis designing predominantly children’s books. Whilst her background is publishing she did spend a significant period looking to find ways to work in the environmental fields from commencing training as a Landscape Architect and undertaking a PGcert in GIS to complement her Digital Design Masters. She has volunteered with Transition Stirling since June 2022, starting off in the Community Food Project and Tool Library before being encouraged to join the board. Her interest lies in finding ways to support a transition to a just and environmentally safe future for all members of our communities.

Lisa McCrone – Trustee

Lisa has worked in the environmental field for over 20years. After completing a MSc in Environmental Management at the University of Stirling, she worked for Keep Scotland Beautiful for almost 10 years supporting local authorities to implement recycling services.

After a brief spell at Scottish and Southern Energy, she joined Zero Waste Scotland and has since specialised in programme and project management.

She is currently seconded to the Scottish Government to provide governance and programme management support to the Deposit Return Scheme programme and the wider Circular Economy Division.

She is a Chartered Waste Manager and Chartered Project Professional. She joined Transition Stirling as a Board Member in August 2023.
